Gingerbread House Treat Box

This Treat Box uses Mirror Image Stamping, Coloring, Fussy Cutting....and a whole lot of FUN!!
I Love decorating Gingerbread houses and have been teaching that class at Michael's year after year. When I first saw this Stamp Set Maymay's video on her 3D Wagon/Wheel Barrel Treat Box came to mind. This video help me so much to figure out how to construct the box. I knew I had to create a Gingerbread House Treat Box.
-First I used the Mirror Image Stamping Technique and stamped out 2 "houses" in one direction and 2 "houses" in the other direction. I also stamped out a bunch of "Candy" on white cardstock. This created 2 treat boxes.
-Next, colored and fussy cut the images. With the houses, Fred and Ginger I inked all the edges with Distress Oxide Vintage Photo Ink (this gave it a "baked cookie" look).
-For the box, I cut a 4 1/2" X 4 1/2" piece of Kraft carsick, then scored all 4 sides at 1 1/2". Then cut on the red dotted lines... see Photo. Crease score lines and glue the sides into place (don't forget to ink the edges of this box as well).
- Then all that is left to do is assemble/decorate the house. Be sure to place the "house" pieces so the chimney is on the same side at each end.
-Oh ya, fill with CANDY
Supply List:
